Whether you are a visitor or local, heading to the Zoo can be a great activity for the whole family. The Zoo’s in Adelaide are best when a full day is spent, as there is so much to see and do.

Adelaide Zoo, one of Adelaide’s most iconic attractions, is home to more than 2,500 animals and 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited over eight hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings. The Zoo is open from 9:30am- 5pm every day of the year, including Christmas Day and all public holidays.
Old Princes Hwy, Monarto South SA 5254
Monarto Zoo is one of the largest open-range zoos in the world spanning more than 1,500 hectares and is home to more than 50 species of exotic and native mammals, birds and reptiles.
The zoo is located 60 minutes (70 kilometres) from South Australia’s capital city Adelaide and is the gateway to the picturesque Murraylands region.
Monarto Zoo opened in 1983 as a breeding and pasture area. Since officially opening to the public in October 1993, Monarto Zoo is now home to more than 500 animals roaming in vistas as far as the eye can see. Monato Zoo is open from 9:30am- 5pm (with last entry at 3pm) every day of the year, including Christmas Day and all public holidays. If the temperature is over 40 degrees, or there is a Catastrophic Fire Ban, the zoo will be closed.
Ketabi Café is open from 9:30am-5:00pm daily and offers a range of tasty treats, small bites and hot meals.
Cleland Wildlife Park

At Cleland Wilflife Park, animals roam freely across the park’s 35 hectares of native bushland which allows all guests to see animals interact, feed a kangaroo or hold a koala and have your photo taken.
Like the other Zoo’s, there are shopping and cafes available along with BBQ’s and picnic areas.
Cleland Wildlife Park is open from 9.30am – 5pm every day (except Christmas Day or days of catastrophic fire danger). Entry gates and aviaries close at 4.30pm.
Only 20 minutes from the city on the South Eastern Freeway.
