Golf swing tips for beginners

With the weather warming up, a perfect activity with friends or business partners is Golf. Adelaide Shores is one of Adelaide’s best public golf courses, with immaculate greens, and the option of “The Pat”, a 18 hole course, or “The Executive 50” a 15 hole course.

We have researched some of the best tips to help you improve your golf swing.

1. Work on your balance

Balance is the basis of everything. If you move back on your heels or forward on your toes during the swing, your hands and body will try to compensate in some way to get the club head to the ball.

2. Check your tempo

The best way to learn this is to slow down your swing. By slowing down, you are allowing your body to shift its weight in the right sequence for maximum power.

3. The grip

For a beginner, the golf grip is the most important step of learning the game. I have seen aspiring golfers trying all types of swing techniques without mastering the grip first. It is best to learn which one works best for you, and practice that until you learn a new one.

4. Use the right club

making sure you use the right club for the type of shot you are about to take is another important factor in the game. Don’t stress, Adelaide Shores Golf have clubs for hire, so they will be able to let you know the different types.

5. Have a golf lesson

Adelaide Shores Golf has 2 fantastic coaches available for coaching sessions. Cody and Anne-Marie are both PGA approved members of Australia and offer coaching is available for all standards of golfer from beginners to elite 6 days a week. All our private tuition is conducted in our undercover hitting bays and using the latest in video analysis software to help identify what areas need to be improved.
