The Sunday Mail City Bay Fun Run in Adelaide, South Australia on Sunday, 17 September 2017 has 12km, 6km and 3km fun run and walk events.

There are always the serious athletes, the elite runners from all over Australia but overwhelmingly the majority of people are there for the fun. There will be people dressed up supporting charities or advertising local groups and businesses. As you proceed down the course you can soak up the road side entertainment and the encouragement of fellow participants or by-standers.


21 September – 8 October 2017

OzAsia Festival is Australia’s premier international arts festival focusing on Asia.

The 2016 festival was all new, revamped and refreshed, including a twist on the much-loved Moon Lantern Festival. Under current Festival Director Joseph Mitchell, the annual program features the finest theatre, dance, music, film, talks and visual arts that Asia has to offer.

The Bay to Birdwood for 2017 is an event is for Classic vehicles, and will take place on Sunday 24 September.

Entries are open to all original cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks and commercial vehicles built on or after 1 January 1956 and on or before 31 December 1981.

5 October – 15 October

The 11-day event will call the West End of the City home, making the newly opened GU Arthouse Cinemas the new festival hub. Sessions will also be presented at nearby cinemas in Adelaide’s CBD and beyond. This year’s theme, Vive Le Punk, will celebrate the creative freedom of mavericks, auteurs and screen visionaries from around the globe.



6 – 7  October 2017

GREASE – THE ARENA EXPERIENCE brings everyone’s favourite rock and roll musical to life on stage like you’ve never seen it before. Featuring all the hit songs from the most popular movie musical of all time, including You’re the One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin’ and more, this is GREASE on a mega scale!

Celebrating 30 years in 2017, the world’s biggest solar challenge began in 1987 and is a 3,000 kilometre endurance adventure from Darwin to Adelaide that occurs once every two years. The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge has become the world’s foremost innovation challenge with teams from around the world vying to become the first to deliver sustainable solar powered electric vehicles. 2017 will mark the event’s 14th crossing of Australia, commencing in Darwin on the 8th of October.

Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide is a celebration of innovative South Australian design and style. Taking place in October each year over four days, the festival showcases both established and up-and-coming Adelaide designers as they present modern, innovative and relevant fashion in a world-class setting. If you love fashion and design, or if you’re just curious at heart, then come along and expect the unexpected. The Festival will celebrate what is special about South Australia, its creativity and design – including photography, hair and makeup, art, food and wine – in various vibrant venues with the city of Adelaide as its backdrop. The program includes nightly runway shows, retail activity, lunches, workshops and more.

FERMENT the FESTIVAL is the only festival in Australia to bring together most of the foods and beverages we all love in the one location. From cheese to chocolate, charcuterie, sour dough bread, kimchi, kombucha, gin, beer, cider to name a few. Ferment will include a Food Lab and a Liquid Lab for hands on learning. Legendary Australian rock band and agitators Midnight Oil today announced their first World Tour in over two decades. They also unveiled plans to release three archival box sets including a collection called “The Overflow Tank” which will contain more than 14 hours of previously unreleased and rare material.

2017 marks the 21st Festival of celebrating Pride and Diversity by providing a platform for the LGBTIQ community and allies to share arts and culture with the greater community.

Feast is one of 10 major Festivals in South Australia and is the 3rd largest LGBTIQ Festival in the country. Feast is an International event, bringing performers from all over the world, such as 2014 Eurovision song contest winner Conchita Wurst and many more, attracting visitors from near and far.



16 – 19 November 2017

Inspired by James Cameron’s record-breaking film AVATAR, TORUK – The First Flight by Cirque du Soleil will make its Australian debut at Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre in October before heading to Sydney (Qudos Bank Arena), Melbourne (Rod Laver Arena) and then Adelaide (Entertainment Centre).

Avatar is really meant to be a celebration of human motion and human emotion and Cirque is able to capture that absolutely perfectly, because it’s all about human performance and physicality. It makes you feel alive to watch these performers,” said James Cameron.

‘’TORUK – The First Flight is an integration of humanity and technology, a colorful spectacle for the entire family. We are delighted to see this epic journey take flight in Australia, a country so rich in culture and scenery as can be found on Pandora,’’ said director and writer Michel Lemieux.

At 9:30am on Saturday 18 November 2017, the whistle will blow to signal the beginning of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant! Join more than 260,00 people along the 3.3 kilometre route in Adelaide’s city centre to welcome the colourful and exciting Credit Union Christmas Pageant – South Australia’s traditional welcome to the festive season. Arrive early to get the best spot along the Pageant route. Watch the amazing parade of storybook floats, listen to the marching bands and wave to Father Christmas. From humble beginnings of just eight horse drawn floats and four bands, the event has grown to include 64 floats and more than 172 moving performing sets. The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is a family event. Come and enjoy the spirit of Christmas and community.
